Biography
Julie is a shareholder in Brouse McDowell’s Business Restructuring, Bankruptcy, and Commercial Law Practice Group. Her experience includes advising debtors, creditors, and trustees in bankruptcy in Federal and State Courts, successfully advising clients through a range of legal issues related to financial difficulties, including, out of court negotiation with creditors to modify or restructure debt, recovery of disputed receivables, and the wind down of small businesses, and serving as Chapter 7 Panel Trustee for the Bankruptcy Court in the Northern District of Ohio since November 1, 2019. Julie is deeply familiar with all aspects of administering bankruptcy cases, leveraging 10+ years of experience as a Career Law Clerk to Hon. Marilyn Shea-Stonum in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Ohio at Akron. Julie also provides skilled representation in breach of contract, non-dischargeability, preference, and fraudulent transfer litigation. Prior to joining Brouse, Julie ran her own private practice, with a focus on representation of small businesses and Chapter 7 Trustees.
Julie is frequently called upon by colleagues to assist in complex and challenging cases and issues. She has a wealth of knowledge in the bankruptcy field due to her unique combination of large firm and solo practice experience.
