Brouse McDowell Welcomes Jeanne V. Gordon & Shelby L. Ranier to the Firm

Jeanne V. Gordon joins Brouse McDowell's Cleveland Office as a partner in the Corporate & Securities Practice Group. She focuses her practice on all aspects of ERISA and employee benefit matters. She also counsels closely-held businesses and provides owners with contract issues, tax strategies, business succession and estate planning. In addition to her work in developing retirement plans, she has significant experience in advancing 401(k) profit sharing, Cash Balance, Pension and ESOP plan designs. Jeanne has assisted in establishing welfare benefit packages, and reviewing employee welfare plans for compliance purposes.

Jeanne received her BSBA in Finance and Economics from the University of Richmond. She received her JD from the University of Toledo and received her LLM in Taxation from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law.

Shelby L. Ranier joins Brouse McDowell's Akron Office as an associate in the Corporate & Securities Practice Group. She is a transactional attorney, focusing her practice on corporate tax, specifically tax planning. She has experience creating tax models and calculations for various transactional scenarios, including basis step-ups and loss limitations. In addition to her work in tax, she is particularly interested in mergers and acquisitions, and corporate structuring.

Shelby received her BS from Kent State University in 2011 and graduated cum laude. She received her JD and her Master of Taxation from the University of Akron in 2015 graduating cum laude.
