Stepping Off on the Right Foot to Protect Your Squad When Arranging for or Streaming Your Band

Brouse Partner Matthew Vansuch, who is in the Litigation, Business Transactions & Corporate Counseling, and Business Restructuring, Bankruptcy & Commercial Law practice groups in our Canfield office, has used his love for music to give back to his alma maters by volunteering as the announcer for the Howland High School and Youngstown State University marching bands. Along with Brouse Summer Associate Joan Reardon and Dr. Brandt Payne (former director of athletic bands at YSU and the University of Hawai’i), Vansuch co-authored an article in the April/May 2022 edition of the Ohio Music Education Association’s Triad magazine that looked at benefits of creating and using custom arrangements for the music educators’ performing ensembles and how to avoid the dreaded cease and desist letter— accompanied by a bill—from a copyright holder.
